Through collaboration with major customers, PSM have developed many specialised and unique machining methods, including grounding crack initiation notches, 5 Axis machining of aerofoil test pieces to a production standard and also, a proven repeatable method of introducing controlled “Artificial Damage” into test pieces, potentially allowing components with minor damage, entering service instead of being scrapped.
